Family Class Sponsorships

Canada proudly welcomes over 100,000 immigrants annually through family sponsorship. Each year, approximately 80% of these immigrants come through the Spouses, Partners, and Children Program, while the remaining 20% are sponsored under the Parents and Grandparents Program. Family reunification is a cornerstone of Canada’s immigration policy, aiming to strengthen the economy, unite families, and uphold humanitarian values.

Key Aspects of Family Sponsorship

1: Immigration and Permanent Residence: Sponsorship allows your family member to immigrate to Canada and obtain permanent residence (PR).
2: Financial Responsibility: As a sponsor, you commit to providing financial support for your family member’s basic needs, including food, clothing, shelter, and health needs not covered by public health services.

Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking

When sponsoring a family member, you must sign a Sponsorship Agreement, committing to support their basic needs. This includes signing an “undertaking,” which makes you legally responsible for the sponsored person. If they require government social assistance, you must repay this money. This commitment remains in effect for a specific period, regardless of changes in circumstances such as divorce, separation, or financial difficulties.

Types of Spousal or Common-Law Sponsorship

Inland Sponsorship: If the person you wish to sponsor is already in Canada, you can apply from within the country. This option allows them to continue living in Canada while their permanent residence application is processed. They may also apply for an open work permit to work for any employer in Canada during this time.

Outland Sponsorship: If the person resides abroad, you will apply through an Embassy or Consulate. They will usually wait outside Canada for their permanent residence but can visit you during the process.

Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship

The Parent and Grandparent Sponsorship Program (PGP) and the Super Visa Program allow Canadian citizens and permanent residents to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada. The PGP is a lottery-based program, with selection varying each year. To find out about eligibility and to start your case, contact Can Heaven Immigration Inc. today.

Super Visa Program

The Super Visa Program allows parents and grandparents visit Canada for up to two consecutive years without renewing their status, with a maximum validity of 10 years. It is an ideal option for those in countries requiring a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), allowing frequent travel between Canada and their home country. The Super Visa is available year-round and has lower income requirements compared to the PGP.
